A history of supporting charities
Shropshire Charity Golf Society (SCGS) was formed 6 years ago providing business professionals with the opportunity to meet for a round of golf on a monthly basis, whilst raising money for a very deserving and local cause.
The Society meets on a monthly basis playing a variety of courses in Shropshire, and beyond, over 18 holes on the third Friday of each month.

Raising money for good causes
Over the past 6 years in excess of £6500 has been raised to support the vital and lifesaving work carried out by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
Society members advocate that they can relieve some of the pressures of their own work environments on a golf course and also build long lasting friendships with their fellow members.
Midlands Air Ambulance
Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding and operating three strategically located air ambulances serving six counties in the Midlands, including Shropshire. What is not widely known is that MAAC receives no Government or National Lottery funding. Each year the charity starts every year with zero funds and must generate over £9 million from local businesses, groups and the public.
Patients rely on Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in their greatest hour of need, and are taken to the most appropriate hospital for their injuries, which might not necessarily be the nearest hospital. This greatly increases their chances of survival and enables patients to make the best possible recovery.
